Bo Seminar with Kyoshi Ota

On January 22, 2005 Samurai Spirit Karate was priviledged to have weapons master Kyoshi Ota teach two classes on basic Bo techniques. The first class was for adults and had approximately 30 participants of all ranks. The second smaller class was for children. Both classes were a tremendous success and we look forward to having master Kyoshi Ota honor us with his knowledge and skills again soon.

World and National Judo Kata Champion
Visits Samurai Spirit Karate

On September 5, 2003, fifteen judo enthusiasts were treated to a special visit by three-time World Judo Kata Champion and 12-time National Judo Kata Champion Greg Fernandez. Sensei Fernandez (7th dan) demostrated an array of valuable judo techniques. The visit was arranged by our own judo instructor, Sensei Toney Raven (8th dan), himself a two-time World Judo Champion.
